Scottsdale, AZ, January 2006 – Located in the heart of Scottsdale, the intimate Scottsdale Resort & Athletic Club has expanded its boutique property to accommodate the newly built Eurasia Spa. Opening in March 2006, this retreat combines clean modern lines with an eclectic mix of Asian influences to create a union of East and West.

Capturing the beauty and magic of Asian décor, the Eurasia Spa blends earthy colors and dramatic images to evoke a sensory journey and invites guests to build a personal experience in its calming surrounding space. Guests cross a small Asian-inspired bridge as they enter the spa’s interior. Inside, the use of river stone flooring, the copper-bronze mantle fireplace and burnt orange silk fan sconces juxtaposed against a rich cayenne wall evoke an immediate feeling of transformation from the outside desert surroundings. Spa-goers travel through a hand-crafted bamboo inlayed black shoji door as they enter a silk organza-draped room filled with oversized chairs where they wait in the tranquility room. The Zen-like simplicity of the spa’s design creates a stage for pure relaxation of all of the senses.
The interior features five spacious treatment rooms styled as personal havens. Eurasia Spa has appropriately named each of its five spa therapy suites after classic Asian blooms including the Lotus, Orchid, Peony, Azalea and Wisteria. The Hings commissioned a family member, who is an accomplished Chinese Brush artist to create the flowers' likeness on delicate, handmade textured Magnolia paper framed and affixed to the door that will greet each guest as they enter their therapy suite.
The facility will boast an area especially dedicated to Vichy shower treatments; an Asian Soaking Tub; and the ultimate spa suite with private patio that accommodates two people and is ideal for couples, friends, mothers and daughters or as a VIP retreat. Guests can complete the experience with nail care treatments in the manicure and pedicure room.
The comforting tone of the visit is set when guests step off the bridge and exchange their footwear for Asian slippers and are welcomed by friendly staff. Guests are directed to a changing room, where they slip into a beautiful kimono robe and are able to relax in the Tranquility Room prior to their treatment. Each spa session begins with a Cosanti Bell ritual, exclusive to the Eurasia Spa. This pleasing blend of ambient sound and peaceful rhythm and melody is designed to guide the mind and body into a more relaxed and balanced state.
Recognizing the tonal benefits of sound therapy, Eurasia Spa sought a partnership with the world-renown Cosanti Originals in Scottsdale. The Cosanti Bells were incorporated into each and every treatment session, as well as one 120-minute signature therapy treatment, The Sounds of Peaceful Healing, which is dedicated to transferring the healing powers from the bells to the guests. Each of the Cosanti Bells that are used was hand-made exclusively for the Eurasia Spa.

THE SOUND OF PEACEFUL HEALING, this 120-minute treatment begins with the comforting sound of a unique blend of calming tones followed by warm pressure applied with heated pouches of organic herbs, aromatherapy, and essential oils to promote a calm and dreamy state. Hot stones are applied to address tired and sore muscles and joints, followed by a warm detoxifying wrap to eliminate toxins. The therapy is concluded with a massage that combines various Asian techniques.
EURASIA’S VELVET REPRIEVE BODY WRAP, this 50-minute treatment begins with an herbal dry brush to prepare the body’s complexion. Using a customized blend of fresh coconut, vanilla and herbal extracts this creamy body treatment is applied for a sheer softening body indulgence. Combined with a warm wrap this is the perfect treatment for dry, sensitive or sun over exposure. During your wrap you will be further relaxed with either a soothing scalp, neck or facial massage. This treatment finishes with warm compresses of coconut oil leaving the skin velvety soft. This treatment is the perfect complement for any Eurasia treatment.
GREEN & WHITE TEA SUNDANCE BODY FACIAL, we call it liquid "Sunlight!” This 80-minute treatment begins with a Green & White Tea sugar scrub to clean and exfoliate the body, This is followed with a full body massage using "Sun Dance" warm massage oil that will assist in bringing clarity, and especially comforting for those who come from wet, snowy or cold climate and need a little reprieve! For hydration, Green Tea body butter is applied and you are wrapped in a warm blanket that will allow the skin to soak up all the offerings of this signature treatment. Finally your treatment experience finishes with a comforting scalp massage.
CHAI TEA MUD WRAP, a Balinese healing treatment that detoxifies by drawing impurities, this 80-minute treatment combines pure green clay, soothing aloe vera, and Chai tea spices for a relaxing therapeutic wrap that revitalizes and reactivates sluggish cells to reveal beautiful skin. This treatment begins with a dry brush to prepare the skin, followed with the warm Chai mud mask wrap. After showering, the treatment continues with massage using the Aruyvedic oil appropriate to one’s Dosha type.
REVITALIZING CHI BAMBOO BODY POLISH, this 50-minute body treatment is an excellent treatment to revitalize chi energy and bring the body back into balance. Foaming Bamboo Lemongrass Scrub made with bamboo powder is applied to stimulate and polish one’s skin to a healthy glow. Lemongrass oils revitalize, while ginger oils warm and soothe.
